Attention Whore
Regardless of the medium or the technology, if you want to read or write, whatever you choose to do it with will be the exact thing your cat will decide is today's must-have nap location.
This has been going on since we were scratching stick figures on cave walls. I don't know why I keep thinking I can convince him that a laptop is not attractive.

It's cat school. When you go to work, cats go to cat school so they can learn how to be a better companion. The sleeping on laptops is a relatively new class, but one that cats pick up easily.
It goes along with how to wake up your human using only your wiskers and Bags 101.
